We have two databasing project underway. Both are using SPECIFY for data entry:
The Lichen Database - This is an NSF funded project (DBI - 0237401) to computerize the label data from all our accessioned lichen collections. This database is now available and searchable on line.
Michigan Vascular Plants Database - Funded by the Hanes Foundation, this project aims to computerize the label data from all our accessioned Michigan vascular plant collections. Currently, the label data from approximately 30,000 of our collection has been entered into a database.
We also have several digitization projects underway that are imaging specimens in our collection and making them available on-line:
Type specimens - All our type specimens have been digitized and are available at the JStor Global Plants website
Great Lakes Invasive Plants - Man of our vascular plant specimens from the Great Lakes region have been digitized and are available at the Symbiota website
Bryophytes - Only the labels have been imaged. These are available on the Symbiota website
Macroalgae - All our specimens of macroalga have been digitized and are available at the Symbiota website
