Description:
Thallus; thin, white, granular-areolate.
Apothecia: 0.3-0.4 mm diam, ▒immarginate; pale yellow with yellow pruina when young, becoming dark blue-black when mature and in exposed situations, pruina often persisting near the margin.
Asci: Byssoloma-type, appering Lecanora-type when mature.
Spores: simple, occasionally 1-septate, c. 12 x 5 Ám.
Excipulum: excluded, not apparent.
Pycnidia: not observed.

Distribution:
Falkland Islands. Five collections, usually from Empetrum stems.
